Northern New Jersey AA Online Meetings List

I was pleasantly surprised to find this AA meeting finder app. With our “new normal” reality of social distancing and spur-of-the-moment changes, it’s of ultimate importance that our community help 12-step members find the information they need. The pandemic has caused a great struggle for many alcoholics by losing the one thing that keeps us spiritually fit – connection with one another.

Select the Chat tab to view private conversations with your contacts or group conversations (channels). After launching Zoom, click Join a Meeting to join a meeting without signing in. If you want to log in and start or schedule your own meeting, click Sign In. The developer, Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc., indicated that the app’s privacy practices may include handling of data as described below.

Meeting Guide is a free-of-charge meeting finder app.

Meetings can take place both online and by phone. The Meeting Guide app and the Online Intergroup of A.A. Both provide information on phone and online meetings. Local entities like intergroups, central offices, and area and district offices may also provide meeting information. To find your closest local entity, please search via A.A.

You can also request more information from your regional correspondent at GSO. Meeting Guide syncs with area, district, intergroup/central offices and international general service office websites, relaying meeting information from more than 400 A.A. Service entities directly to the app. Over 100,000 weekly meetings are currently listed, and the information is refreshed twice daily. I’ve been using this app for a couple years and suggest it to others all the time.

This app makes it easier for members to find ways to keep that connection. Thank you to the developers in helping to facilitate that connection. Service entities full control of their local meeting information while collecting it in one place, making it easy for anyone to find a meeting. Local entities provide their meeting information voluntarily.

I’m disappointed in the location search in the latest version, however. In the current version I get multiple communities in my area — this is great. In the latest version 3.0.28, the only hits returned are for the City input, so multiple city searches are required for meetings in surrounding communities.

I don’t see a way to expand the search for +10 or 20 miles. This may not be an issue in some areas, but for many of us in multi-City areas it’s not always as easy. What a wonderful surprise. After moving to a what is whipit new area, one of the first things I did was research new meeting locations.
